Aberdeen are demanding that Sone Aluko returns to Pittodrie after he joined up with the Nigeria Under-20 squad at their Spanish training camp without their permission. The Dons are now demanding the 20 year old have his fitness assessed before deciding whether to allow him to participate in the forthcoming Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.
Boss Mark McGhee told RedWeb: "In fairness, there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding.
"We're in contact with the Nigerian FA and are insisting that Sone returns to Pittodrie to be fully assessed by our medical staff before we decide whether we will give him permission to take part in the tournament."
