Sunderland will complete the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Jozy Altidore today.

The Daily Mail says Altidore will arrive on Wearside today to complete his move to Sunderland, with the 23-year-old striker due to fly in to undergo a medical having agreed personal terms.

The Black Cats agreed a deal with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for the United States international over the weekend and are keen to push the transfer through as quickly as possible.

The Black Cats unveiled Bosman free signings Valentin Roberge, Cabral and Modibo Diakite last week having also added youngsters Duncan Watmore and David Moberg Karlsson to the mix, and the Italian has a series of other targets in his sights.
