Jozy Altidore says he will stay with AZ Alkmaar beyond this summer.
The American striker, who has netted 28 goals in all competitions this season, has been tipped to depart the AFAS Stadion by manager Gertjan Verbeek who feels he can make it at a bigger club.
But Altidore insists he is happy in Alkmaar and will remain with the club for the foreseeable future after almost ensuring their safety with a match-winning hat-trick in the weekend's 6-0 victory over FC Utrecht.
"The coach said he expects me to leave in the summer? No. I like Alkmaar. It feels like home to me. I have developed tremendously as a player and as long as the club want me, I will stay here," he told reporters.
