Jozy Altidore has apologised to Hull City fans after his dismissal in their defeat to Sunderland.

Altidore butted Sunderland fullback Alan Hutton, who had thrown the ball at the American.

Both were red carded and yesterday Altidore wrote on Twitter: "Made a stupid, immature and costly mistake. I apologise to Hull City and the fans who I let down."

The USA international is on-loan at Hull from Villarreal and unlikely to remain at the KC following their relegation.
