Sydney FC striker John Aloisi is considering a move to join an Asian team on loan.
Aloisi, the Sky Blues marquee player, has said he does not want to leave the club but is keen to get some game time during the off-season.
It is a long time between seasons in the A-League and a stint away from Australia might do the embattled goal scorer a world of good.
"He's quite keen on getting some games, maybe a dozen or so," Aloisi's manager Paddy Dominguez said yesterday.
"We are very keen to explore opportunities.
"It would have to be the right team and the right environment for John, though.
"Despite what happened this season to John, I can say he's very motivated.
"It's a long break before the next A-League season and it would be ideal for him to play games.
"Most of his life he was playing between 40 and 50 games a season in Europe."
Sydney representative Scott Barlow confirmed that a loan deal to a Chinese club was a possibility.
"It's an option and it's something we're working on," Barlow said.
