Almeria president Alfonso Garcia is demanding big money for winger Pablo Piatti.
Piatti was watched by Everton scouts earlier this month, sparking speculation of a move to Goodison Park for the Argentine.
But Garcia has priced him out of such a switch by demanding €11 million for his transfer.
Everton boss David Moyes has admitted he can only afford to shop in the loan market in January.
