Almeria president Alfonso Garcia is convinced they're close to securing coach Unai Emery to a new contract.

Emery is the hottest coaching talent in Spain and comes off contract at the end of this season.

Garcia met with his coach yesterday and last night emerged to tell reporters: "We are closer. We've taken one more step forward to Emery staying with Almeria."
