Francisco Rodriguez has been named coach of newly-promoted Primera Division side Almeria.
The 34-year-old, who has been in charge of Almeria's reserve side for the last two seasons in Segunda Division B, replaces Javi Gracia who it was announced yesterday would be leaving the club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.
A statement on the club's official website today read: "Francisco Javier Rodríguez Vilchez, 'Francisco', is the new Almeria coach for the 2013/14 seasons as the club return to the highest level of Spanish football.
"The Almeria-born coach, who recently turned 34, becomes the youngest coach in the Primera Division and will assume the challenge of trying to achieve safety."
