Almeria midfielder Fabian Vargas had a pop at Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas after yesterday's 1-1 draw.
The pair clashed at the final whistle after Vargas blocked Casillas from taking his kick.
Vargas took to Twitter to explain the bust-up: "In the last play of the game my friend Henok (Goitom) had a shot and Iker saved it. He then tried to get on with the game quickly.
"I cut in front of him and at that moment the referee ended the game. Mr Casillas turned to me with all his rage ... I understand the helplessness of not being able beat a humble and hardworking team like us and also losing points in the race for the title.
"But that does not justify treating an opponent like that. I challenged him and what he did insulted me. (But) It is simply the normal reaction in the heat of the moment."
