Almeria have handed stricken Rangers a rare cash boost.

Almeria are still owed £500,000 from a deal which took Juanma Ortiz to Ibrox last summer, but are prepared to waive their right to that fee if the Gers allow them to keep the 30-year-old on a permanent basis - having brought him back to his homeland on loan in January.

"It is in the hands of Almeria, my agent and Rangers," said Ortiz.
