Allsopp looking for some success with DC United

Danny Allsopp is hoping his side can get past tonight's US Open Cup semi-final, giving them a chance of gaining some silverware this season. DC have slumped to the bottom of the entire MLS table with just four wins in 21 matches but find themselves in the final four of the US Open Cup.

Allsopp, who has netted a team-high four goals in the league this season, sees tonight's semi-final clash with Columbus Crew at the RFK Stadium in Washington as a great start to United gaining some success this term.

"It's been difficult [this year], and this could be a real good thing for us," Allsopp told the Washington Post. "This would give us a chance, if we can get past this game, to get some silverware out of the season."

Allsopp scored a double to help DC to a 2-0 league win over Philadelphia Union last weekend but missed Sunday's narrow 1-0 loss at Chivas USA because of a stomach bug.
