Danny Allsopp scored a double to lead DC United to a 2-0 win in MLS on Sunday. The former Melbourne Victory striker scored in the 22nd and 63rd minutes of his sides win over Philadelphia Union at RFK Stadium in Washington.
Allsopp opened the scoring when he pounced on an error by Union defender Danny Califf and slotted past Chris Seitz before doubling the lead just after the hour-mark with a low left-footed shot after being released by a Pablo Hernandez step over from an Andy Najar pass.
The goals were Allsopp's third and fourth for the season and the match also marked caretaker coach Ben Olsen's first win as DC coach, snapping an eight-game losing streak for the club.
