Allen hopes Sigurdsson sticks with Swansea

Joe Allen says Swansea City MUST tie down Gylfi Sigurdsson to a permanent deal from Hoffenheim.

Sigurdsson's double against Fulham took his tally to four goals in three games.

And Allen said: "A goal-scoring midfielder, especially at this level, is like gold-dust. It's a shame that technically he isn't our player.

"No doubt, we'll do everything we can to sign him. If you ask him, he'd probably agree that he'd like to stay. We've got him until the season ends and we'll take it from there. We're gelling brilliantly in the central midfield.

"Leon Britton is such a good player to play with, he's a dream. And Gylfi has slotted in better than probably I've ever seen.

"Of all the young players out there I don't think I've seen too many better than him and another two goals from him shows how good he is. The feeling we have in the dressing room now is we can really focus on the top half of the table.

"And one of our priorities this summer has to be to make sure we sign him. He really has got everything. He even scored with his head and showed he is prepared to do the ugly side of the game."
