AC Milan boss Max Allegri insists his team is good enough.
The Rossoneri were soundly beaten 2-0 at Real Madrid and risked losing by a greater margin, but the Coach saw some positive aspects.
"After the Madrid game I got the squad together to analyse the reasons behind the defeat," he told the Corriere dello Sport.
"Watching it back confirmed to me that we lost the game in the first 15 minutes, when we gave away possession 15 times. We made a myriad of mistakes.
"In my view it was just a bad day: with enthusiasm, hunger and grit we can challenge anyone in Italy and Europe. This is why I think I'll field the same sort of side in the return leg at San Siro.
"If I had thought otherwise, I'd have taken our quality players off at the Bernabeu and introduced more tank-like figures for the midfield."
