Allegri: Ibrahimovic presence inspired AC Milan to victory

AC Milan coach Max Allegri says their 4-0 thrashing of Lecce was inspired by the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The former Barcelona striker was in the stands and saluted San Siro at half-time in the centre-circle during the 4-0 victory over Lecce.

“Ibrahimovic brought enthusiasm to the environment. Tonight the team was fired up, ready to put in a good performance and celebrate the win,” said the Coach.

“It was important to start well, because a newly-promoted side could've caused us some problems.

“I think we had a good game. We are still not 100 per cent, which is normal at this stage of the season, but the team played well and passed the ball around nicely.

“After the break we made a few too many mistakes, but that was understandable because before we had worked very hard.”

First time in a long time that I saw Milan's midfielders actually chasing a ball. Normally, Dinho stands around and Slowdorf moves in slow motion. Pace was much faster today, but why did Slowdorf stay in the whole game? I think he was the worst player.
