Allardyce to be named Everton manager within next 24 hours

Former England national team boss Sam Allardyce is set to be appointed as new manager of Everton within the next 24 hours.

Negotiations are still taking place but the Toffees believe that they have finally found themselves their successor to Ronald Koeman.

Allardyce initially pulled out of the running for the job and the Everton board was said to be split over whether he was the right man to lead the club forward.

However the Merseyside club once again turned to him this week after they shipped nine goals within the space of four days last week under interim boss David Unsworth.

Everton have so far endured a disastrous season after spending heavily during the summer and Allardyce will be tasked to help them avoid relegation this season.

Big Sam does have a reputation for helping clubs avoid relegation, he did so with Crystal Palace and Sunderland during the past two seasons and this is something that Toffees fans can take heart from.
