West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is determined to find a quality left-back signing.
The Daily Star says he has made Nice star Timothee Kolodziejczak an alternative target to Norwich defender Martin Olsson.
Big Sam has released two left-backs - George McCartney and Razvan Rat - and sees the signing of a replacement as a priority.
Olsson, 26, would be the cheaper option at £3million following the Canaries' relegation.
The Sweden international played for Allardyce at Blackburn.
Kolodziejczak, 22, is valued at £8m and is under contract for another two years.
