West Ham took the lead at Upton Park on Saturday but then allowed Burnley to nick a 2-1 win meaning the Hammers missed the opportunity to go top of the Championship.

But boss Sam Allardyce believes if they continue their current points haul for the rest of the season, promotion will be assured.

"Looking back at the last 10 games we have got more points than we hoped for," said the Hammers boss.

"Everyone went home disappointed and of course frustrated but the overall situation is we are well on target - 22 points from 10 games guarantees you automatic promotion if you can maintain that form."
