West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says they'll be busy in the January market.
Allardyce wrote in the London Evening Standard: "At this moment in time, we're not that close to a signing but there is still some time to go. Yes, we can sign average players but we have to find someone who can make a real impact.
"With our current injuries, we have to cast a bigger net. We've been short, for example, of another central defender for some time but budget needs mean you have to make calculated risks.
"We would be looking to sign more than one player in January and perhaps move on several of our fringe players, who are perhaps not playing enough and who would like to go elsewhere."
