Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has revealed how captain Geremi has had a positive influence on Charles N'Zogbia.

"The young man's talented, but he hasn't had much direction," said Allardyce. "But he seems to have linked up quite well with Geremi, and he's listening and learning.

"Having someone talking to him like Geremi can help him understand the game a bit more. He can grow from there and be a good player.

"Not all players with great ability can be great players. He's got to have an equally good attitude to be able to get the best out of himself."
