Allardyce linked with Bolton takeover bid

Bolton Wanderers have dismissed talk of a stunning takeover bid by ex-manager Sam Allardyce.

The Manchester Evening News says Wanderers have rubbished rumours that ex-Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd and former boss Sam Allardyce are planning an audacious takeover of the club.

Speculation has been rife that the duo are looking to do a deal.

However, Isle of Man based owner Eddie Davies, who owns 94.5 percent of parent company, Burnden Leisure PLC, could be more receptive to a takeover if Wanderers are relegated.
