Allardyce happy for Man Utd's Ronaldo to avoid probe

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is happy for Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo to escape action over his petulant flick at David Dunn.

The Daily Mail says while the Blackburn boss was disappointed referee Howard Webb failed to spot the incident, he did not want the FA to act, as a ban would have ruled Ronaldo out against fellow strugglers Newcastle next Wednesday.

Shaun Wright-Phillips was retrospectively given a three-match ban for a similar act in Manchester City's defeat at Stoke on January 31.
