Allardyce doubts Liverpool's Carroll would be interested in West Ham

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce admits he is interested in Andy Carroll but doubts the Liverpool man would want to play for his club.

The 23-year old England centre forward is being linked with a summer loan move away from Anfield with AC Milan believed to be at the forefront.

Hammers boss Allardyce has confirmed he would like to see the former Newcastle United man at Upton Park but is unsure if Carroll would want to head to East London.

"You can't say you wouldn't be interested in Andy Carroll, he's a player who has got great stature in the Premier League," Allardyce told Sky Sports News HD.

"Whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham is another matter."

He added regarding a potential loan: "It depends on whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham."
