Sam Allardyce wants to repeat the success he had at Bolton Wanderers with Blackburn Rovers.
They have made a solid start to the campaign but are looking forward to a Carling Cup semi-final against Aston Villa.
And Big Sam, who led Wanderers to the final of the same competition in 2004 and the brink of the Champions League, is looking at Blackburn as his long-term project now.
He said: "Can we do a Bolton? If we get to the Carling Cup final we're halfway there.
"We'll see where we are in January and see where we can go from there."
