West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce admits James Collins was devastated after gifting Pavel Pogrebnyak his winner for Reading yesterday.

Allardyce says West Ham should have done more to make sure their teammate wasn't responsible for a defeat.

Big Sam said: "I never thought I'd see James make that sort of mistake again.

"He made one at Swansea earlier in the season and he's been one of our most consistent players since then. The lads should have got James out of the mire. He's distraught in the dressing room."
