West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce accepts the board's patience won't last forever.
Hammers' co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold gave Allardyce a public vote of confidence on Monday.
"In the end we all know what happens if you don't get results as a manager," Allardyce said.
"It depends on what results I get over the next few weeks or games and I'm realistic enough to know I have to get results, particularly quickly, from my point of view as a manager.
"Their (Gold and Sullivan's) track record proves they haven't been too rushed into anything. I'm pleased by the united front in these difficult times. When it comes from co-chairmen it is very nice to see and hear.
"They've never been too rushed into the decisions they make. Over the last 18-20 years, the managers they've had, they've given them a good chance and stuck by them when things are not going so well."
