All square between Swansea and Hull

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers enjoyed his teams football but was disappointed with the result, a 1-1 home draw against Hull after the Swans had taken the lead. Rodgers said: "It's very disappointing having worked so hard to get in front. Some of our play was outstanding.

"We started the game not so good but we came into it. Our patience and passing was good and paid off and we got into some good areas.

"We got the goal we deserved and it was a wonderful strike from Mark. But then we gave a poor goal away from our own throw-in which has ended up costing us.

"Hull are a good side and very well organised. They had to change which was a great compliment to ourselves. But you can see why they have gone so long unbeaten away from home because they hang on in there.

"We put ourselves in a great position, had control of the game but a poor throw-in and we have found ourselves drawing the game.

"They are all big games so we have no complaints. We will have to pick up a win elsewhere where maybe we could have drawn."

Hull boss Nigel Pearson was content with the point.

He said: "It is a good result but it could have better because we had the better chances throughout the game.

"We had two free headers from set-pieces, their keeper made a couple of one-on-one saves and we could have had a penalty.

"But a victory may have been unfair on Swansea because they are a team I have a lot of respect for. Their style should be applauded but I thought we were very effective.

"And for all Swansea's attractive football, I don't think they created too many chances against us. We were frustrated with ourselves in the first half. We worked very hard without the ball but we were poor in possession.

"We started the second half very well and the players deserve a lot of credit for a lot of discipline and willingness to put the team first."
