Every member of Manchester City's first team squad has been interviewed by police over Joey Barton's alleged assault on Frenchman Ousmane Dabo.
England midfielder Barton, currently negotiating a £5.5 million transfer to Newcastle United, has subsequently lodged a counter claim against Dabo.
It's reported that police investigating the incident have sent detailed questionnaires to members of the City squad, including former manager Stuart Pearce and his assistant Steve Wigley.
In an unprecedented move, players have been asked how the incident came about, who started it and who they believe is to blame.
Any players who do not return the questionnaires will be interviewed by police when they return for pre-season training at the end of the month.
Barton is currently on holiday in Dubai awaiting developments on a transfer that has been held up by his demands for a £300,000 loyalty bonus.
The deal is expected to go through later this week.
