Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald is hoping for more consistent results at home next year.
The Teessiders sit third on the Championship table despite winning just four of 11 at the Riverside Stadium and ahead of Christmas, the Australian international simply wants that to turn around.
"It always makes a massive difference when you have more fans behind you creating more atmosphere. It makes for a more entertaining game and players get excited by that.""My Christmas wish would be to have better home form next year and to start picking up three points regularly instead of dropping points here and there," he told the club's official website.
And McDonald added that the attendance at Boro, which has fallen away slightly over recent years, will get closer to capacity as the team strives to return to England's top flight.
"That's not taking anything away from our fans who come every week and have been there through thick and thin. They've been fantastic and we'll continue to keep going whatever the crowds.
"But it would be great to fill the Riverside again and the only way we'll do that is by trying to get back to the Premier League.""It's not that we're not up for it every week, but when the stadium's full to capacity it's a delight for the players to see that and it shows what a great following we have," he added.
