All clear for Oviedo as Everton defender escapes serious injury

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has allayed fears that Bryan Oviedo had suffered another serious leg injury.

The Costa Rican left-back took a blow to the same leg he previously badly fractured in the weekend's 3-3 draw with Chelsea and required a stretcher to leave the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Oviedo missed around eighth months of 2014 due to the leg injury but fortunately has been cleared of any damage and could be fit to face Swansea City this weekend.

"There was good news on Bryan Oviedo," Martinez told the club's official website.

"We all felt the worst when he left the pitch on a stretcher but it's been good to see him running in training today and I don't expect him to be missing from the squad at the weekend."
