ChampionshipLeeds United have applied for a large casino licence and hope to incorporate it in plans to redevelop Elland Road's West Stand. The club, one of four venues across the city to apply for the licence, have met with potential partners who would run the casino and are expecting to hold further talks.
The club's chief executive Shaun Harvey said:
"The increase in non-matchday income will allow us to further invest on the field to see the return of Premier League football at Elland Road." "The potential of the casino coming to Leeds United is an exciting one and fits perfectly within our business plan of increasing revenue streams on non-matchdays, both in isolation and to compliment, either our existing facilities or those that are planned.
