Alistair Campbell has hit out at Owen Coyle over his decision to quit Burnley for Bolton Wanderers.
The former Labour spin doctor, and Burnley fan, criticised Coyle's decision to leave for the Reebok Stadium.
Campbell said: "When Celtic came knocking at the start of the season - they are a huge club, in Europe, it's the team that he supported as a child and you can understand the emotional draw to that.
"It's very hard to understand that kind of draw to Bolton.
"I think if it was a self-evidently much bigger job where he could really show his mettle against the very best in the world then everyone would applaud him and wish him well. But to toddle off to Bolton strikes people as a bit odd."
