Racing Santander owner Ahsan Ali Syed has big plans for his new club.
Racing overcame Sevilla 3-2 on Saturday to give themselves a chance of beating the drop.
Ali Syed told AS: "When everyone talks about the league, the first thing that comes to mind are Barcelona and Real Madrid. As I said before, I will give everything I can to help Racing grow in the world of football.
"I am sure there is room for a third team. There are many possibilities for Racing to be competitive with these two teams. When we have more time in the summer we will definitely bring more talent, but that does not necessarily mean that that the team will do well.
"I want to grow personally in this club, so that I can stay in the position for a long time. I have set a figure for transfers, but as I said before I will not be too aggressive. I want to bring talent, but how much, I will let the experts decide."
