Zidane joined Real management this term as an advisor and to be groomed for a bigger role with the club down the line.

However, Sud-Ouest says Zidane has met with the president of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, to discuss becoming national team coach after the World Cup.

Bouteflika has made an offer to the French legend, who has asked for time to consider the proposal.
