Alexis Sanchez rejected a chance to double his money at Real Madrid by signing with Barcelona, it has been revealed.
La Tercera says having already agreed terms with Barcelona while still with Udinese, Sanchez received a stunning offer from Real chief Jose Angel Sanchez - almost double what had been settled with Barca.
A source revealed: "People in Real Madrid, through Jose Angel Sanchez, sent Alexis a multi-million dollar salary offer. It was almost double what he had already agreed with Barcelona. However, he flatly rejected the offer because he had decided to leave for the team of Josep Guardiola."
Udinese chief Andrea Carnevale admitted: "I've known Alexis Sanchez for two and a half years, from when he first arrived at Udinese. I can say with confidence that he always wanted to go to Barcelona."
