Alexander set to sign new Rangers deal

Rangers boss Ally McCoist is ready to hand Neil Alexander a new contract following the departure of Allan McGregor to Besiktas.

The former 'Gers number one has signed a two-year deal with the Turkish outfit paving the way for 34-year old Alexander to become first choice at Ibrox.

Alexander has one year remaining on his current deal but has been offered a further three years although that will come with a wage cut after Rangers were forced into Scotland's Third Division after falling into liquidation.
