Liverpool legend John Aldridge says manager Brendan Rodgers has done well to clearout the dead wood this summer.
Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "What pleases me most about the business Rodgers has done this summer is his success in getting rid of some of the deadwood who contributed little or nothing to the title challenge last season.
"Off-loading flop players is no easy task, but Liverpool have done that well this summer.
"Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas have gone out on loan deals, Victor Moses has been sent back to Chelsea and Fabio Borini is being encouraged to join Sunderland in a £14m transfer. That would be great business if Liverpool can get the striker to agree to the move."
