Aldridge: Ibe perfect replacement for Man City-bound Sterling

John Aldridge says Liverpool already have a replacement for Raheem Sterling.

With news that the 20-year-old winger is set to leave Anfield for Manchester City for £49million, former Reds star Aldridge suggests it is no great loss as Brendan Rodgers has Jordon Ibe to immediately step into the vacancy.

19-yearold Ibe, who joined Liverpool from Wycombe Wanderers in 2012, has had loan spells at Birmingham City and Derby County over the past few seasons and Aldridge believes he is now ready to make the step up for the Merseyside club.

"There's a young player called Jordan Ibe and I've watched the progress of both Raheem and Jordan since they were both 15 or 16, and in my humble opinion, Jordon has got as much to give if not more than Raheem," Aldridge told Sky Sports News HQ. "Time will tell, but he's an ideal replacement; he's going to be a fantastic player both for Liverpool and England in the future."
