Aldo: Chelsea signing Torres has spat in faces of Liverpool fans
Liverpool icon John Aldridge has launched an amazing attack on new Chelsea signing Fernando Torres.
Aldo didn't hold back, branding the Spaniard "a fake and a fraud".
Aldridge wrote in his column for the Liverpool Echo: "Fernando Torres is a fake and a fraud who has spat in the faces of the Liverpool supporters who idolised him.
"Torres is simply a mercenary who has gone for a huge pay rise.
"Liverpool fans stuck by him this season. They made excuses for his poor performances, about his injuries still affecting him. But all the time Torres appeared to be taking the club and the fans for a ride.
"Once he had put in a transfer request Liverpool were right to let him go. There's no point keeping someone who doesn't want to be there. My five-year-old grandson refused to put his Torres shirt on over the weekend because even he was disgusted with him."
The former Reds striker, who had success in Spain with Real Sociedad, continued: "Torres talked about how much it meant to him to be a Liverpool player. He seemed to embrace Liverpool's values but now we know he didn't mean it. It wasn't real and I'm sure he'll be saying the same things about playing for Chelsea.
"The timing of his decision to demand a move was terrible but maybe Liverpool are better off without him."

well sed aldo, although i believe torres was poor and mentally negative due 2 the fact he wanted 2 leave! i hate torres and aldo is ryt, but i think he will be dangerous with chelsea, am i th only 1 to be scared of torres and drog up frnt?
Good riddance. He won nothing when he was at athletico madric then he came to our club and we won nothing ever since he came. He is a jinx, even though I have to admit he is a world class player. Chelsea fans should be afraid of this jinx, not happy. We are a better team without him. Liverpool FC, YNWA.
Like his mates Fairclough and Pinnochio Thompson not to mention their delusional fans all have reacted in a Childish manner. Upto last Thursday he was the best striker in the world and a god. He gave you more than 3 years and rushed back from injury carrying your team along with Stevie G. Now he is this and that and your burning your shirts. He was 6 the last time you won the league he was still in his Teens when Chelsea started winning things in the late 90s. He probably signed because of Rafa and the other Spaniards you have won NOTHING and slipped out of the top four and into the Europa league and out of the two cups and league title race. If he had stayed it would be at least two more seasons without Champions league football. Now he is a money grabbing mercenary what do you think Suarez and Carrol have signed for? one was 1 and the other about 5 the last time you won the league its money even at Liverpool they have doubled thier money and both signed extensions and said they were happy where they were. Which brings us too he was a weak link really? put away your petty scouse hatered you have just won two home games and an away game to the bottom team big deal move on children.
