Tottenham Hotspur are worried about potentially losing star defender Toby Alderweireld for under the odds.
French language Belgian daily Le Soir is reporting through Football Leaks that Alderweireld has a release clause of just £25.4million (€30m).
The 27-year-old Belgian centre-half joined Spurs from Atletico Madrid for around £11.5million in July 2015 and has been colossal for the North London club ever since, suggesting that the release fee is a bargain for any interested clubs.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has historically not inserted release clauses into the contracts of his players but it appears as though former Southampton loanee Alderweireld does have one, and a very affordable one in today's increasing market.
The report, via HLN, reads: 'each starting spot at Tottenham delivers Toby Alderweireld 6000 euros. The central defender in his contract with the Spurs are a surrender clause of 30 million euros.'
London-based Belgian journalist Kristoff Terreur Tweeted the news, which has been backed up by evidence of the documents by Le Soir.
Remarkable: Toby Alderweireld can leave Tottenham for a fixed price of 30m. (via @LeSoir/Football Leaks) #THFC#COYShttps://t.co/NvYwDqHEZF

Spurs say that none of their players have a release clause. Wonder if Le Soir will print that part of the contract tomorrow. #footballeaks
