Wigan Athletic defender Antolin Alcaraz hopes his return can boost their survival chances.

The big Paraguayan also admits he is desperate to make up for lost time - having been robbed of a big chunk of the campaign.

"My season only really started two weeks ago," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "Everything before that, I have forgotten about because it was not so good.

"Fortunately there is still time for me to make a difference - and I hope that is the case."
