Marc Albrighton hopes to make his competitive Aston Villa debut in the Intertoto Cup.

The winger told Villa's website: "This will be a big year for me and one I have set myself some goals for.

"I want to try and play a part in the reserve side this year and maybe try and force a loan spell at a club somewhere to gain experience.

"With the Intertoto Cup coming up soon, there may be a chance to be a part of that. We have a smallish squad at the moment, so it could be a good chance for some of the young guys to impress."
