Albrighton determined to make up for lost time at Aston Villa

Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton hopes to hit the ground running next season.

Albrighton is hoping a strong showing at the Euro U21 tournament will set him up nicely for a positive start to next season's Barclays Premier League.

"The second half of the season has been a little bit frustrating not getting much opportunity to play but if called upon I've got to do my best," he told AVTV.

"Against Wigan I didn't really show my best and I was glad to get the chance to put that right against Liverpool. Hopefully I did that with the assist for the goal.

"I've got the championships over the summer - that will be nice to go to.

"Then next season I'll hopefully get a good pre-season under my belt and start well again."
