Alberto Moreno: Why Liverpool and Sevilla are similar

Liverpool fullback Alberto Moreno is looking forward to their next Europa League clash with Sevilla.

Moreno is a former Sevilla player, joining the Reds in 2014 for £12m.

“It will be a special game, if I'm selected to play," he said.

“Lots of family and friends will be going to watch. I'll fight hard for victory, like I do every time I pull that shirt on.

“I've only played in the group stages of the Champion League so to get through to the next round would be really special.

“It's been a few years since we got through as a club to the knockout stages. The fans deserve a happy event like that."

The Spaniard reckons the spirit of the two clubs is similar.

Sevilla's motto is 'Nunca Se Rinde'.

“It means they never give up," he said.

“As a player what I love about both sets of fans is that they never stop encouraging you and driving you forward, shouting and singing.

“In terms of atmosphere they are similar but in terms of the stadiums Anfield is more on top of you, more closed in if you like. The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is a bit more open apart from its main stand."
