David Albelda hopes to negotiate a release from his contract at Valencia next week.

After seeing Santiago Canizares gain such an agreement on Monday over his deal, which runs to 2009, Albelda's agent has scheduled a meeting with Valencia vice-president Rafael Salom next week to discuss the midfielder's situation.

Albelda is contracted to Valencia until 2012 and desperate to leave the Mestalla after a controversial six months.
