Albanian FA make desperate play for Man Utd's Januzaj

The Albanian FA have called on Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj to commit to them.

The AFA says it is prepared to "accept anything" for the Manchester United teenager to pledge his international allegiance to the country, says the Telegraph.

Januzaj, who signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford before Saturday's 1-1 draw with Southampton, is understood to be ready to commit himself to England, despite potentially being ineligible to play for the team until 2016.

"We are ready to accept anything just to have the young, talented Januzaj become part of our national team, so he can contribute for the future of the Albanian football," an Albanian FA spokesman said.

"As we did with other players already playing for the national team, we will continue our job with no hesitation or any influence on us, in order to have Adnan Januzaj wear the black and red shirt, so he can honour himself, his family and the flag of his heritage."
