Alaves midfielder Marcos Llorente: No Real Madrid contact

Alaves midfielder Marcos Llorente has revealed Zinedine Zidane didn't want him to leave Real Madrid.

Llorente is on a season-long loan from Real this season.

He explained to Marca: "We talked with Zidane and his wish was that I stay in the first team. But finally, after a meeting with Jose Angel Sanchez, Zizou and my family, we decided that the best option was for me to leave on loan to play in La Liga as much as possible and to try to come back next season.

"The praise reminds me that I'm doing things right, but that's all. For the moment I do not think of the future and if this is what should happen, it will happen. I'm with Alavés, I am very happy and I work every day in the best way possible.

"I do not know if Real watch my matches, nobody's called me yet. But my dream is to triumph one day at Real Madrid and I will fight all my life to play there."
