Veteran Spanish striker Raul admits it would be too hard to choose who he would prefer to play for out of Real Madrid and Schalke.
The 36-year old, currently with Qatari club Al-Sadd, played for both Madrid and Schalke during his famed European career and says it would be far too difficult to pick which club he would represent in Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League fixture between the two.
"The first thing that went through my mind was that I'd love to play," he told Schalke's official website.
"If I could I would play with Schalke at the (Veltins) Arena and Real at the (Santiago) Bernabeu. I have to admit in all honesty that I'd find it hard to play a big game against one of my former teams, so I'm very happy to watch the game as a fan.
"I grew up at Real Madrid. I spent most of my career there and was very successful. I spent less time at Schalke, but it was a much more intense experience than I'd anticipated. I didn't think I would ever stay so connected to the club once I left."
However, Raul will be busy watching current club Al-Sadd who meet Iran's Sepahan in their first group stage game of the 2014 Asian Champions League in Doha.
"It'd be a dream to be there, but I have an Asian Champions League game with Al Sadd on that same day," he added.
Raul has since been officially ruled out of Al-Sadd's clash with Sepahan because of a leg injury.
