Al-Khelaifi admits PSG hoping Beckham lifts global profile

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi admits signing David Beckham will boost their profile around the world.

Manchester United and Real Madrid legend Becks, 37, has joined PSG until the end of the season.

Al-Khelaifi said: "He did not come for money but simply because he wants to play football. Just to make it very clear - he's a football player and secondly, of course, he is known worldwide.

"It's great, it's huge. But it's a bonus. Everywhere in the world people are talking about the arrival of Beckham to PSG, so it's also an excellent marketing coup.

"He's famous on the Asian market, on the American market, and, of course, everywhere in the world.

"But it's the Asian market that we are aiming for as a priority."
