Al Hilal launch bid for Stoke striker Jones

Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal are launching a £5 million bid for Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones.

The Mirror says the Riyadh outfit want Jones as a replacement for their top star Yousel Al-Arabi, who is on his way out of the club.

Jones joined the Potters from Sunderland 18 months ago for around £8m, but has been squeezed out of the side by summer signing Peter Crouch - although boss Tony Pulis is in no rush to lose him.

Al Hilal have made an official approach for Jones, and Stoke want to get their money back at least as the move has taken them by surprise and they have no obvious replacement lined up.
